Greenies on 3, Greenies on 3; 1, 2, 3, GREENIES!

“I’ve Never Won Anything Before!”

In light of 58 Greene news, we recently won a Talent Show competition hosted by the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi, for a Black History Awareness Month celebration and benefit concert. We won $1000 for singing our arrangement and traditional medley of “Dance Mix”. Our Dance Mixes usually include the semester’s popular songs, according to the radio and Billboard charts, as well as some popular throwback/old songs as well. This particular talent show Dance Mix was composed of T-Pain’s “Buy U a Drank”, followed by Trey Songz ft. Nicki Minaj’s “Bottoms Up”, Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T. Pretty Young Thing”, and Rihanna’s “Only Girl”.

I was ridiculously ecstatic as the suspense built up around the placement announcements. As the host of the show, Coco, was naming off the third place and second place runner-ups, our anticipation and excitement built up as we hoped to be the one’s to come out on top. After a lot of laughing and talking and more stalling than I could endure, Coco finally announced “58 GREENE!” as the first place winners. We literally all exploded in screams and shouts of joy, and embraced each other as we slowly made our ways up to the stage. It was by far one of the most memorably moments of my college experience and time with Greenies 🙂

Here are some pictures and a video of our performance!
